Las Vegas – The Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association (ATRA) hosted their annual Powertrain Expo on Thursday, October 29 through Monday, November 2 at the Riviera Casino. ATRA partnered with the Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association (APRA) to bring ideas from the two different industries together for business owners to glean from.
“We are happy to announce that the co-hosted ATRA Powertrain EXPO and APRA Big R show set a record attendance of over 2,500,” said ATRA CEO Dennis Madden. “Combining these shows gave the exhibitors and attendees an opportunity to consider products and services outside their industry. As the economy changes it’s important for industries to change with it.”
The first part of the expo featured seminars Thursday through Saturday. Management lectures were given emphasizing how to develop trust with customers, and there were 21 hours of workshop time addressing technical issues. Eighteen industry specialists with a wealth of experience shared their insights on how to fix various cars correctly and promptly. A trade show wrapped up the expo on Sunday and Monday, where 269 booths featuring 152 exhibitors showcased new products and services.
“Sometimes we get so caught up in the negativity we hear about on a daily basis that we stop looking for new opportunities,” said Madden. “This show gave everyone a fresh look at new ideas. It gave them a reason to get excited about the industry and their business.”
