Ventura, Calif. – Ventura County Credit Union (VCCU), the largest Credit Union headquartered in Ventura County, has recently launched their newest marketing campaign, challenging current and prospective members to “Break free from your bank.”
This slogan represents VCCU’s call for those that perhaps do not know about the benefits of Credit Unions look to alternative methods for handling their finances, avoiding the fees, stockholders, mergers, inflation, fine print, and more that often come with the large corporation banks.
Part of their campaign includes a web banner that links to a survey asking current and prospective members how they have or plan to break free from their bank. VCCU will collect each contributor’s name and email address for future marketing purposes, as well, bulking up their contact list with people interested in VCCU and what they have to offer. “We are very excited about this campaign because we are asking people to do something very simple and important, and that is to look at their options,” says Tina Estes, Director of Marketing for VCCU. “We decided to take on a new attitude this year and really get the word out on the benefits of Credit Unions to our community and bring in new members, and this campaign is our first big step.”
Other VCCU campaign components include t-shirts for staff with the campaign slogan, product postcards, branch banners, newspaper ads, a community mailer and branch posters. The Ventura County Board of Supervisors recently awarded VCCU with a Resolution, declaring VCCU’s 60th anniversary, August 3, 2010, Ventura County Credit Union Day.
