The holidays are always a great reminder of how lucky I am, both personally and, for the purposes of this blog post, professionally. The owners of Mustang Marketing, Scott and Randi Harris, chose to do a very unusual thing: close our offices at a time when we are blessed to be extremely busy.
Instead of working, we joined our clients—and friends—at Community Bank to serve meals at the Rescue Mission of Ventura County. We all worked together, side by side, to chop food, set tables, serve guests and clean up. We also took a tour of the facility and learned about the great work the Rescue Mission does every day—while we get to work from the comfort of our offices and live our “regular” lives.
All of us were humbled by the experience, but it was the company I was surrounded by that made the experience so special. It was very generous of Scott and Randi to give us this opportunity, and we are grateful to share it with Community Bank in support of those in need.
As I worked beside Michael, Chris, Ginny, Brett, Randall, Scott and Randi, it was cheerful and moving. We work together every day, but this was something unique and important that we won’t soon forget. We all wished we could do more, and I’m sure we will do it again. Thank you to our friends at Community Bank for inviting us and giving us something else to cherish this holiday season!
