We are all super excited for our designer, Randall Loui, who is getting married this Saturday! That being said, we are also really buckling down because we’re short one designer for two weeks.
With a small company, everyone contributes to our clients’ work, so we constantly go over responsibilities and divvy up job tasks to handle our workload. Over the last week, the Mustang staff scrutinized each job, and my team began to work overtime to prepare for Randall’s absence. Each of us has certain skills to bring to the table; we are all experts in different areas. This makes us collectively ready for whatever needs our clients might have.
Three Mustang team members have really stepped up and pleasantly surprised me lately with skills I was unaware they possessed, which strengthens us as an agency.
Ginny, our Client Relations Coordinator, revealed a history with audio production (including a second degree in broadcasting!), and has stepped up to the plate to brilliantly produce and edit radio spots. Her skill set and dedication have truly blossomed since she joined Mustang 14 months ago, and it is hard to imagine a time when she was not here.
Brett, one of our graphic designers, volunteered to take over Randall’s video editing tasks, and declared that he’d originally gone to school for video animation! The pieces he’s turning out proves that he must have paid close attention in those classes—his work directly reflects his passion, and expands our editing capabilities and speed for the future.
Michael, who we originally hired for graphic design, has been largely utilized for his web design and coding skills. However, with Randall gone, he has switched over to a graphic design focus. He revealed a passion for process and organization during this critical time, which is immensely helpful to our team.
It’s funny that being a man down has led us to really explore our resources, and what we found were strengths we will carry with us into the future—even after Mr. Loui returns.
Congratulations Randall! You will be very missed, but we’ve got the next two weeks in the bag.
